05 Apr Three exporters win grants in Metro Atlanta Chamber contest – Atlanta Business Chronicle
Three companies have won a total of $35,000 in grants through the Atlanta Metro Export Challenge.
Air-flow control products producer Triatek Holdings of Norcross, Ga., will receive $20,000, with $10,000 going to Dustex LLC of Kennesaw, Ga., which manufactures air pollution control equipment and $5,000 to software manufacturer IronCAD of Atlanta.
The Metro Atlanta Chamber sponsors the export challenge, which focuses on local companies with innovative export strategies. The three winners were among 28 companies selected as semi-finalists last year.
"Companies with global perspectives are more likely to create new jobs," said David Balos, head of Chase Middle Market Banking in Georgia, an affiliate of JPMorgan Chase & Co., which renewed its commitment to the program last year with a $100,000 grant.
This year, United Parcel Service Inc. contributed an additional $25,000, and Partnership Gwinnett pitched in with $5,000.
