Horses get loose, block traffic on Atlanta highway

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – Atlanta traffic has always been bad, but Saturday morning drivers had to deal with a different kind of "horsepower" on the highway.

A small herd of horses decided to take to the streets and ended up blocking traffic on Highway 78 eastbound right near North DeKalb Mall.

Police are currently trying to round the 10 horses up. Traffic had slowed to a standstill while motorists stopped to watch all of the excitement.

Decatur’s Little Creek Horse Farm, the place where all the horses escaped from, posted on Facebook that they were thankful to DeKalb police for helping keep people and horses safe.

"Steps will immediately be taken to assure this doesn’t happen again," they said.
